As a biodiversity conservation, the month of October 2011 has been an amazing moment for Tambling Wildlife Nature Conservation (TWNC) . As we know from the report and also news that distributed by medias that TWNC patrol team has found a wild Sumatran Tiger in the forest which her pawn was wounded . The team rescued her to TWNC Sumatran Tiger Rescue Centre to  have an intensive treatment.

            During a periode of  treatment in the medication cage, surprisingly the tiger had given birth to 3 (three) male cubs on Wednesday, 26 October 2011 !

            Before the moments, a tiger keeper has noticed an unusual sign on the tiger’s nipples. He had a thought  that the tiger has been birth in the wild. But he could not do a detail checking until treating the wounded pawn as the the tiger was relatively aggressive comparing with other tigers which were under rehabilitation in the centre. Anyhow, to made an assurance, TWNC patrol team was scouting surrounding area to look for the cubs and they didnt find them at all.

            The programs of TWNC in tiger conservation are to protecting their habitat to give them an opportunity of reproduction in the wild, to translocating conflict tigers to the centre, to rehabilitating conflict tigers until they are ready to be release back to the nature and the tiger release it self. Mostly, problems of tigers is a conflict with human. Either they lost their teritories because of human needs to open the land or they become a target of illegal poaching and illegal hunting because of the commercial value of a tiger in every part of their body.

            The 3 (three) tiger cubs that were born in Tambling has showing that the wild tiger ( a mother) has been successfully did the reproduction in the wild with another male tiger. This is, at least, giving a picture of  the healthy and safety habitat in Tambling for tigers to have a reproduction cycle in the wild. We hope that  it is also become a good news for the whole world especially to the conservationist.

            Having heard about the news, Mrs. Hj.Ani Bambang Yudhoyono as the First Lady of Indonesia has sent her warm congratulation to TWNC team. First Lady also sent a message to TWNC to keep the spirit in protecting the nature of Indonesia as our forest are the lung of the world. To know about this amazing moments, First Lady willing to appreciate the hard work of the team by giving names for tiger cubs. After awaiting for sometimes, finally she released the names.

            Here are the names with a hope for the tiger cubs and all family member of Artha Graha Peduli as the umbrella of conservation work in TWNC .

1.      Bintang (Star) : with  a hope that it will be the light that shining the life

2.      Taufan (Typhoon) : with a hope that it will be bold, strong and tough

3.      Petir (Thunder) : with a hope that it will be a rumble and every sounds or movements will be heard to all over the world

            It is really an honour for TWNC as His Excellency President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also sent his regard as His Excellency involved to discussed the names with First Lady. This is really another amazing moment for TWNC.We are very happy to have  names for tiger cubs which First Lady signed by her self in the pictures that we sent to the palace as part of  a report to government of the conservation work. We will do our best  to fulfill the wish of the good meaning of names.
